WWDC19: iOS 13, iPad OS, macOS Catalina, watchOS 6 and more
On this 3rd June 2019, Apple has unveiled its new software and hardware. Let’s take a look at all of the new softwares.
The big feature of iOS 13 is the new dark mode
You’ll now be able to get all your apps in dark simultaneously. The second big feature is the redesigned volume control, the one I wanted the most!

- Audio sharing
- Health app improvement

iPadOS is a boosted version of iOS 13. It has the same new features but also a lot of differences.
- New Home screen
- Support of hard drives
- New gestures
iTunes is dead. After 15 years, Apple killed iTunes and created three new apps: Music, Poadcast and TV. You can now use your iPad as second display or graphic tablet with Sidecare wirelessly or not. Developers will be able to bring iPad apps to macOS easily with Project Catalyst Finally, screen time also arrives on macOS.
watchOS 6 offers new watchfaces
- App Store with independent apps
- Cycle tracking and other new health features
- Sound level with Noise app
- Activity trends
With Xcode 11, Apple introduced SwiftUI witch combines code and storyboard to make it more easy to design apps. I’ll talk about it in another post!
